antioxidant highlights

All berries are incredibly potent as natural antioxidants. They are packed with vitamin C. Some researchers recommend 3,500 antioxidant units each day. A quarter cup of raspberries provides you with 1,220 antioxidant units. As an antioxidant superfood containing ellagic acid, raspberries help prevent unwanted damage to cell membranes and other structures in the body by neutralizing overly reactive oxygen-containing molecules called free radicals. Raspberry's flavonoid content is also well documented. These flavonoid molecules are also classified as anthocyanins, and they belong to the group of substances that give raspberries their rich red color. Raspberries' anthocyanins also give these berries antioxidant properties, as well as some antimicrobial ones, including the ability to prevent overgrowth of certain bacteria and fungi in the body.

* Although our founders, both cancer survivors, believe that antioxidants made a difference in their treatment outcome, the foregoing statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and while antioxidants are being studied for a variety of potential health benefits, antioxidants have not yet been proven to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

I eat with yogurt. All natural and I eat dried fruit all of the time. This is crunchy though and not oily which makes it fantastico.
